I love to experiment with different methods of creating art and images, mixing them up, finding out what works and what doesn't, often I find that I may have attempted a drawing or painting using one method and just can't make it work, by adding some other element or breaking the piece apart and using it in collage it then transforms into a completely different entity, and may take on a new role to that which was first intended.

I gather images for collage from many different sources; magazines, newspapers, books, photographs etc... Images or writing will stand out to me either because of their concepts and content, or simply the style, layout and qualities such as colour and form. An idea may then be triggered as to what I want to achieve or say in an art work which I then attempt to accomplish.
